What Makes TAG Different
At TAG, our stores operate with real entrepreneurship and ownership, within a high-performing dealer group.
You’re not on your own. You’ll have access to shared services, proven systems, and group-level support. But the expectation is clear:
You own the outcome.
This is not a sit-back, run-the-payroll kind of GM role. This is a full ownership, performance-driven leadership position for a proven operator who knows how to build and lead high-performing teams, and wants to run a business, not just manage it.
What You Get:
- Senior leadership role within a top BC automotive dealer group
- $150,000 to $400,000 per year earning potential
- Medical, dental, and mental wellness benefits
- RRSP program
- Paid time off
- Ongoing leadership development (NADA + internal programs)
- Access to TAG University, Leadership Academy, and playbooks that drive performance
- Shared services support (HR, recruiting, marketing, strategy, systems) so you can focus on execution
What Success Looks Like (Non Negotiable):
In your first 6 to 12 months, you will:
1) Stabilize and Elevate Leadership
- Build a strong, accountable leadership team across all departments
- Strengthen and align high-performing teams in Sales, Fixed Ops, and Finance
- Address performance gaps quickly, coach or make changes
- Eliminate silos between Sales and Service
2) Drive Revenue and Profit
- Hit and sustain OEM targets (new, used, CSI, fixed ops absorption)
- Improve gross without creating friction in the business
- Tighten used inventory management (turn and aging)
3) Own the Guest Experience
- Improve CSI through process, not shortcuts
- Ensure consistent execution from showroom to service
- Reduce complaints and escalations
4) Build a Culture That Wins
This is not about posters, it is how you run your store:
- Be Awesome. Add value, drive results
- Show Love. Build strong, respectful teams
- Have Fun. Create a high energy environment
- Own It. No excuses, full accountability
You will lead by example and build high-performing teams that deliver consistent results across the dealership.
5) Upgrade Talent and Retention
- Make the right calls on people, quickly
- Strengthen leadership at the department level
- Reduce turnover in key roles (Sales, Advisors, Technicians)
- Build a strong bench and succession pipeline
What You Bring:
We are looking for an experienced GM, not someone ready for their first shot.
3+ years running a full dealership within an OEM dealer environment
- Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams
Valid VSA license and in good standing with the VSA
- Strong financial acumen (budgets, gross, cost control, P&L ownership)
- Deep understanding of variable and fixed operations
- Strong decision making, including tough people decisions
- Clear, direct communicator with executive presence
Schedule: Full‑Time
Compensation: $150,000—$400,000 per year
What You Will Be Doing Day to Day:
- Set and drive performance targets across all departments
- Oversee dealership operations end to end
- Analyze financials and KPIs to identify opportunities
- Lead and develop department managers and their teams
- Manage escalated guest issues
- Support hiring, onboarding, and talent development
- Ensure compliance with OEM, regulatory, and safety standards
